Client websites & web apps
I build fast, low-maintenance websites and small web apps for clients and ship them on edge infrastructure: real estate, language learning, travel. Static or edge-deployed, so they load instantly and cost almost nothing to keep online.
What I build
Marketing sites, content sites, and compact web apps for people who want something fast, cheap to run, and easy to maintain. I favour static generation and edge deployment over heavy CMS stacks: the pages are pre-built and served from a global edge network, so they're quick for visitors and close to free to host. Each front-end is hand-built, to order.
Selected builds
- A luxury real-estate site (~90 pages): a large property-marketing site built with Astro + React and deployed on Cloudflare, with roughly 90 pages of listings and area guides, generated statically for speed.
- A Japanese-language study app: an offline-capable progressive web app for language study (Vite + React 19), installable and fully usable with no connection. (carter.softwareisnothing.com ↗)
- A travel-planning site: a static itinerary and destination site deployed on Cloudflare Pages. (compass.softwareisnothing.com ↗)
- Marketing & niche sites: additional small-business and special-interest sites, built to the same static / edge recipe.
How they're built
- Astro / static-first for content and marketing sites; React 19 + Vite for the app-like builds; a PWA when offline use matters.
- Cloudflare Pages / Workers for hosting: global edge, a generous free tier, and instant deploys straight from git.
- Front-ends designed and built in-house, not pulled from page-builder templates or a per-site subscription stack.
Why it's here
Not every problem needs a platform. A lot of real value is just a fast site, built well, that the client can afford to run forever. This is the low-drama end of the studio: quick to ship, cheap to host, and nobody gets paged at 2 a.m.
